District Attorney

Brooke Jenkins was appointed to serve as San Francisco’s District Attorney. Brooke, who is Black and Latina, is the second woman of color to serve as San Francisco District Attorney, joining Vice President Kamala Harris as barrier-breaking prosecutors. She is the first Latina District Attorney in San Francisco’s history. Jenkins brings over 15 years of experience as an attorney, working for years in private practice and serving as the Assistant Director of Enforcement for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

Jenkins has an extensive background as a prosecutor, serving as an Assistant District Attorney in the San Francisco DA’s Office from 2014 to 2021, where she worked her way up, serving in the Misdemeanor and Felonies Units then later as the Hate Crimes Prosecutor. She was later promoted to the Sexual Assault Unit and eventually the Homicide Unit. Jenkins resigned from the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office in October of 2021 as a result of mounting frustration and incompetence of the office. As assistant district attorney, she prosecuted over 25 criminal jury trials and completed more than 100 preliminary hearings.

With a proven track record of delivering results for San Franciscans, Brooke is dedicated towards achieving real restorative justice and criminal-justice reform while ensuring accountability is met and voices are heard by restoring faith in our criminal justice system. As assistant district attorney, Jenkins has witnessed firsthand the disproportionate effect of our criminal justice system on people of color, low-income individuals, and those experiencing homelessness. She understands the need for progressive reforms to improve our imperfect criminal justice system and the urgency to bring back accountability and consequences to San Francisco’s criminal justice system.

State Assembly

Catherine Stefani believes a better California begins right here in our neighborhoods. She’s dedicated her career to making communities safer and making government work for all of us — as a county supervisor, a policy analyst, a national advocate for sensible gun laws and a champion for victims’ rights.

As a county supervisor and a mother of two, she’s worked to make schools better and communities safer. She’s worked tirelessly to improve community policing and the readiness of first responders. She understands the difficulty parents face raising a family in the Bay Area and has voted consistently to promote the creation of affordable housing. Based on her experience as a prosecutor, Catherine authored Proposition D to create a local advocacy office for vulnerable victims of domestic violence and other crimes.
